Coonawarra is situated in the south eastern area of South Australia and forms part of the Limestone Coast. Coonawarra is another globally recognised region producing premium Australian wines. 

 

This region has retained a wealth of inter-generational wine growing knowledge producing classic style Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, while experimenting with alternative grape varieties. This small but mighty wine region, surrounded by the Indian Ocean on three cardinal points of the compass, is a must for red wine lovers to experience.

Hero Varieties 

Coonawarra is known as Australia's premier region for Cabernet Sauvignon, producing medium to full-bodied wines with blackberry, plum and dark cherry flavours.

The region produces elegant Shiraz that are typically lighter than wine produced in warmer climates.

Merlot produced in the Coonawarra are suited to ageging and tend to be fuller flavoured compared to other Australian regions.
